North Tipperary Ploughing.

A meeting of the North Tipperary Ploughing committee will take place on Wednesday night 4th September at 9pm in Paddys Terryglass. All competitors are requested to attend.
The committee wish to extend the best of luck to Joe Slattery who is judging in the European reversible competition which is taking place in France.


 Clothes Collection.

Rathcabbin Hall committee are collecting clothes as a fundraiser for the hall. Clothes will be collected after Mass at 12.30pm on Sunday 8th and again on Sunday 15th of September or by calling Clare (087)1364936 – Marie  (087) 6129053, Muireann (086) 373 2857 or Catty on (087) 9300982 where you can drop off at any time.

Relics of St Bernadette. 

 This year the relics of St Bernadette will journey on pilgrimage to Ireland for the very first time. This very special once in a lifetime event will provide an opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to experience the special gifts and charisms of Lourdes.  The relics will visit Ennis and Silvermines as detailed here.


Relics of St Bernadette Ennis: 

will be received into the Cathedral Ennis on Monday 9th Sept at 10.30am followed by Mass at 11am. Veneration will continue throughout the day with Rosary at 3pm. Concelebrated Mass at 7.30pm followed by a Marian Torchlight Procession in the grounds of the Cathedral. The Cathedral will close at 10pm. On Tuesday 10th Sept veneration will start at 7am with Mass at 7.40am followed by veneration until the Mass of Farewell at 11am. The relics will leave the Cathedral at 12noon. www.stbernadette.ie


Relics of St Bernadette

Silvermines: will be received into the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes Silvermines at 3pm on Tuesday 10th Sept followed by veneration with Rosary at 6pm and veneration continuing until concelebrated Mass at 8pm followed by a Marian Torchlight Procession in the grounds of the church. The Church will close at 10pm. On Wednesday 11th Sept. veneration will continue until 12 noon with Mass of farewell at 10am.


Mattress Amnesty.

Tipperary County Council are holding a two day ‘mattress amnesty’ on  Wednesday September 11th and Thursday September 12th.  Mattresses can be disposed of on Wednesday, September 11th at  Nenagh Recycling Centre, Limerick Road, Nenagh. And at Roscrea Civic Amenity Site, Dublin Road, Roscrea.  Tipperary County Council are offering households the opportunity to dispose of old mattresses for free and householders will be able to bring up to three unwanted mattresses. All centres are open from 9am – 4pm (Closed for lunch 12.30pm– 1pm).


Volunteer Ministries in the Killaloe Diocese.

A information evening on the training programme for the Ministry of Catechist and the Ministry of Pastoral Care will be held on Monday 16th Sept. 7.30pm in Nenagh Pastoral Centre.  If this date is not suitable for you, there are two more dates that you might like to pick from, Kilrush, Community Centre: Wednesday, September 11th at 7.30 p.m. or Ennis, Pastoral  Centre: Thursday September 12th at 7.30 p.m.

At this meeting Bishop Fintan will be present to formally launch this programme of training and formation. People presently involved in a myriad of volunteer ministries will also be present to answer any of your questions. Come along and see and hear how these lay ministries are developing across the diocese and how you might become part of this Good News story. Mike Denver Concert in Rathcabbin.

Country music star and Portumna man Mike Denver will be performing in Rathcabbin church on Sunday 22nd of September from 7pm to 9pm. It promises to be a fantastic night’s entertainment and your support will be very much appreciated. All funds raised will go towards the building of the community shop in Lorrha. Tickets costing  €25 are now available from the Sceal shop, Lorrha, the Boathouse shop Portumna, Enda Heenan’s Borrisokane, the Derg Shop Terryglass and Sullivan’s shop in Ardcroney or any of the committee members.  All information  on Mike Denver’s website too.

Lorrha Hold Out.

Well done to the Lorrha Junior camogie girls who held out for a draw with Templemore on Friday evening last in the second round of the championship. Lorrha had a 2.17 to 2.9 win over Ballina in the first round so are confident going forward with the rest of their games. Well done girls.


GAA News.

There was No Winner of this weeks lotto jackpot of €6,800. The numbers drawn on 2 September were: 3-4-13-32.  1 Match 3’s wins €100: Antoinette McKeogh.  Next Monday’s jackpot is €6,900. Team 4 in charge of the draw. Thank you for your continued support.


​Senior: 

Lorrha have been drawn against Borris-Ileigh in the semi-final of the senior hurling relegation playoffs and will be played on weekend 14-15 September.


Minor: 

Hard luck to Lorrha Rovers who were defeated by Portroe in the North Minor ‘B’ Hurling semi-final last week.


Euro-Millions Syndicate: 

Our new Euro-Millions draw will be starting on October 1st, with tickets being distributed among players and parents at the moment. They will also be available online in due course. More details to follow.

This is the club’s major fundraiser for the year so make sure to get involved and join our syndicate.
