Buy a Brick

Plans

Since 2016, a community run shop, café and heritage centre has operated in St Ruadhan’s Community Hall in Lorrha. Run strictly not for profit, and staffed daily by dozens of volunteers, the initiative has been an example copied across the country and featured widely in both national and regional media, including RTE’s Nationwide flagship.

Since 2017, we have been seeking to extend the community hall to provide a permanent and fitting home for this initiative, and have worked closely with the Department of Rural and Community Development, Tipperary County Council, North Tipperary Development Company and many others to make it happen.

We are getting close to raising our target funds, and need one last huge push to get us over the line and provide the community with a service that it can be rightfully proud of.

If you would like to support our work extending and redeveloping our community hall into a dedicated cafe, shop, and heritage centre, you can now make an online donation via PayPal. Simply click on the “Donate” button below.

For each brick that is bought, the donor’s name will eventually be included on a commemorative artwork inside the new extension.
If you would like your name to be featured, please be sure to include your details in the comments section when making the donation.
Each commemoration can hold a maximum of approximately 4 words, for example “The Kennedy Family, Rathcabbin”, “Joe & Mary Bloggs, Lorrha”, “Patrick Reilly, New York”.

Any names or contact details will only be used for this purpose and for future communication between S.C.E.A.L. and the donors. They will not be shared or sold to third parties.

The Lorrha-Dorrha website was developed with the support of North Tipperary Development Company’s Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP).
