Under the new management of John McIntyre, David has also offered each of the players access to his state of the art gym in Birr. The club would like to extend sincere thanks to David for his generous offer and for the set of jersey’s which is greatly appreciated by all members of the club.

GAA Fundraiser.
Lorrha GAA club under the new chairmanship of Joe Dolan, are holding a major fundraiser for 2020. It’s a Euro Lotto fundraiser for a chance to win your share in the Euro Millions. Tickets are only €20 for a yearly ticket, and the committee appeal to everyone to support this event if you can.
The club wish to extend thanks to senior player David Fogarty who has very kindly sponsored a set of new jerseys for the coming year. David has also offered each player in the club, the use of his state of the art gym, House Fitness, Birr, for the year ahead. No doubt, this is a much appreciated gesture from the players. Well done David.

Pilgrimage.

Trip to Medjugorje
The annual trip to Madjugorje takes place on June 17th. The duration of the flight will be 2.5 hours shorter as we fly into Mostar instead of Dubrovnik. Also, an easy payment plan is available. Contact Maria on (087) 2826088.

Celebration Dinner Dance.
Shannon Rovers camogie club will host a dinner dance on Saturday, February 22nd at 7pm, in the County Arms Hotel, Birr. Medals will be presented tothe Junior (now Intermediate) and the U18 team. Aglish Sociable Ladies.
A Health Information evening organised by the Aglish Sociable Ladies, will be held on Wednesday 26th February at 8.00pm in Aglish Hall. There will be several speakers on the night. Admission €5. Watch this space for further details.
GAA News.
Senior Hurling: Lorrha have been drawn against Kilruane MacDonaghs in the first round of the North Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship and this game will be played on weekend 28-29 March. In the Seamus O Riain Cup, Lorrha have been drawn with Portroe, Kiladangan ‘B’ and Thurles Sarsfields ‘B’ and these games will be played after Tipperary exit the All Ireland Championship.
David Fogarty: The club would like to extend our thanks to senior hurler David Fogarty. As well as offering each of our players access to his state of the art gym, House Fitness Birr, David has kindly sponsored a new set of Lorrha jerseys for the coming year. David’s generosity is greatly appreciated by all members of the club
Fundraiser: Lorrha have entered the Euro Millions for 2020/2021 as part of our major fundraiser for the coming year. Tickets are great value at €20, with each entrant a part of the club’s syndicate which will be entered in a number of draws per week. All support appreciated.
Social dancing: Continues on Friday, February 14 to the music of Dermot and Irene Ring. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
Presentation: The club made a presentation to the Slattery family in Rocky Sullivan’s pub, Nenagh. Fr Slattery was a selector on Lorrha’s victorious team in 1989, and his family were presented with a cert and medal to honour his commitment to the club.
Well done: To the six Lorrha players who represented the club proudly with the North Tipp divisional hurling teams at the weekend.
Robert Duffy, Conor Kennedy and Shane Cleary were a part of the under-14 team who beat the south in the Peadar Cummins tournament. Rory Duffy was a part of the under-15 team who beat the mid in the Roger Ryan competition while Donnacha O’Meara and Martin Gorman were on the under-16 Garda Cup team. Fair play lads.
