Well done to Rathcabbin NS who won the Cuman na mBunscol North Tipperary hurling Final recently. The u13 team defeated Toomevara and Moneygall, before defeating Dunkerrin in the Final in Cloughjordon. The team play Dualla in the County semi final in the coming weeks and we wish them the best of luck.

Well done to the children from the parish who received the Sacrament of Holy Communion on Sunday last in Lorrha.

Late Annie Lambe.

The death occurred on Saturday May 11th of Annie Lambe, Coolross, Rathcabbin. Annie was predeceased by her husband Tom and by her daughter Anne and is survived by her daughter Mary, son Willie, grandchildren Pauline, Thomas, John, Rebekah and their partners, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sister in law Maureen, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends to whom sympathy is offered.
After funeral Mass in Our Lady Queen of Ireland Church Rathcabbin on Tuesday May 14th. burial took place in Bonoham cemetery. May she rest in peace.

Rathcabbin N.S.

We are in the final term and it’s a busy time at Rathcabbin NS like in all schools. We are hosting a fundraiser for the school on Sunday June 9th at 12:30pm/after mass.It is a fun family 5km walk and Tractor Run and we invite everyone in the community and surrounding communities to come and enjoy the social event before the Summer Break.

Well done to Nicola Kelly on being selected to hurl on the Tipperary Cuman na mBunscol camogie team that played at half time during the Tipp V Cork Munster Senior Championship match.

Well done also to Robert Duffy on being selected to hurl on the boys Tipperary Cuman na mBunscol team at half time in the Tipperary versus Clare Munster Senior Championship match in Ennis on June 2nd.

Thank you for supporting the clothes collection at the school in recent weeks.

Our second class children received their First Holy Communion/Sacrament of the Eucharist on Sunday last in St. Ruadhán’s Church, Lorrha. The children were fantastic on their special day.

Confirmation takes place on Friday the 24th of May and we welcome Bishop Fintan Monaghan to Our Lady Queen of Ireland Church in Rathcabbin at 11am.

Senior and Junior school Tours are both on Thursday June 13th.

School is closed on Friday May 24th for the election and again on Friday May 31st.

School closes for the Summer Break on Friday June 21st.

Refresh Lorrha Continues.

News From Lorrha School.

Congratulations to our Holy Communion class, Edel, Saoirse, Cathal, Lee, Colin, Oscar and Nathan who received the Sacrament on Sunday last in Lorrha. We wish them well in the future.
We extend best wishes and congratulations to Conor Kennedy Abbeyville, who has been selected to play with the Tipperary Primary Cumann na mBunscol team during the Tipp v Clare Munster senior Championship game in Cusack Park, Ennis on June 2nd. Well done Conor and the best of luck.

Mass in Lorrha Church on Saturday 25th  May at 6.30pm and in Rathcabbin church the following day at 11.30am.
Please Note.  The Rosary will be recited before all Vigil and Sunday Masses during the month of May.

Also, please come and join in Rosary around the Grotto in Lorrha every evening at 8.00p.m. for the month of May.

Annual Cemetery Mass in Lorrha will be on Saturday 13th July at 6:30pm

Pastoral area Mass for Exam students.

A Pastoral area Mass for those doing Exams  will be celebrated on Saturday 25th May at 8pm in Terryglass.  All are welcome to come along.

Power Point Presentation.

 Fr. Tom will share images of his recent visit to Israel with a power point presentation on the Holy Land  on Thursday night at 8pm in Borrisokane NS. All are welcome.

Garda Vetting. The Diocese ensures that all parish staff / volunteers who have a role with children and or vulnerable adults are garda vetted every 5 years. This includes all priests, safeguarding representatives, Eucharistic Ministers, leader / helpers involved in parish activities. Annual Killaloe Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock Shrine

This pilgrimage will take place on Sunday 23rd June 2019.  Led by Bishop Fintan Monahan.  2:30 p.m. – Anointing of the Sick  – 3:00 p.m. – Concelebrated Mass.  Knock is Celebrating 140 years this year 1879-2019.

Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes;

Mary, God’s Mother appeared to Bernadette in Lourdes 161 years ago  and asked that people would come on pilgrimage to Lourdes. The Killaloe Diocesan Pilgrimage will be led by Bishop Fintan Monahan who warmly invites you to join him in Lourdes from the 25th June to 30th June. Padre Pio National Pilgrimage.

Congratulations to Colm Fogarty and the Tipperary Minor hurlers who beat Waterford on Sunday last and to Patrick ‘Bonner’ Maher and Brian Hogan and the senior squad who also beat Waterford in their game.

Items of clothing must be clean and dry and in good condition please and we can supply bags if you want. Please note we cannot accept Duvets, bedding, household linen, pillows, cushions, carpets, rugs and mats including bath toilet and shower mats soiled or wet clothing but good quality unwanted clothing for re-use (not recycling). All money raised from all fundraising ventures is used for the ongoing work around Lorrha Village. GAA News:

There was No Winner of this weeks lotto jackpot of €11,700. Numbers drawn were: 4-5-20-28.

Senior Hurling: Lorrha’s next County League Division 2 game is away to Ballingarry on Sunday 26th May at 12 noon. Lorrha will be aiming for a win to stay top of the table.

Junior Hurling: The junior hurlers reached the North Tipp Junior ‘B’ Hurling League final with a 1-20 to 3-9 semi-final win over Kiladangan in Borrisokane on Friday evening. Best of luck to the team when they play Silvermines in the final in Puckane this Friday evening at 7.00pm.

Minor Hurling: The Lorrha Rovers Gaels minor hurlers reached the North League Division 2 final following a 2-15 to 3-8 win over Moneygall/Clonakenny in Moneygall last Wednesday. The sides will meet again in the final, likely to be played after the state exams in late June.

Under 14: The Under 14 ‘B’ Football quarter final against Kilruane MacDonaghs was finally played last Thursday but Lorrha came up short on a 5-7 to 4-2 scoreline.

Primary Schools: Well done to Rathcabbin NS who defeated Dunkerrin NS in the North Cumann na mBunscoil Hurling final last week and face Dualla NS in the county semi-final.

Tipperary: Well done to Patrick Maher, Brian Hogan and Colm Fogarty on their victories with the Tipperary senior and minor hurlers respectively in the Munster Championship against Waterford last Sunday.

All three will be next in action against Clare on Sunday 2nd June and club members are urged to get their tickets now online with the limited capacity of Cusack Park. For the championship, the club won’t be handling tickets for the round-robin matches with all supporters urged to get tickets online on tickets.ie or through Centra and SuperValu.
